If you didnโt know, Iโve been working on swapping Bloody Bastardsโ multiplayer backend for quite some time now, but restarted the process about 3 times in the last year and a half. This time, though, Iโve managed to finally get it to a stage where I feel comfortable actually continuing and finishing it once and for all.
However, itโs still a massive pain in the butt, as the codebase, written by the noob programmer that I was back then, is a tangled mess of spagetti and duct tape. So, for a lot of stuff, Iโm actually starting over and rebuilding from scratch. Itโs the only way. Yes, this means that the multiplayer update is postponed again, until itโs doneโข, but I finally have a good feeling about it, lol!
Hereโs whatโs going to happen next:
Christmas Update:
- New cheating prevention stuff for Character proportions, colors, double-handed one-hand wielding, etc.
- Updated anti-cheat framework
- Christmas presents, of course
Early 2026 Update:
- Multiplayer remade from the ground up
- Fixes for damage and stamina desyncs, weapon position desyncs, controller slight advantage, dead spawning, inconsistent movement, jumpy phsyics and more
